ReplyDelete- A possible source of confusion in the presentation is that Gel is not just a universal representation of parse trees (like XMP or s-expression). In particular, it is also a method for parsing terms.
I've only skimmed the slides, but the goals appear to be similar to ASF+SDF, except that it's a lot less generic or extensible, full of ad hoc parsing conventions.
